The people of Tharparkar have always struggled with water and food shortages under the scorching sun. Life is very difficult in most of their areas due to lack of electricity. Women and children have to bear the brunt of finding and fetching water. Time is wasted and fatigue prevents children from getting an education and women from participating in domestic, social and economic activities. Thus, they are not able to get out of the oppressive cycle of poverty. In such a situation, happiness has become an indescribable dream and they are forced to live a difficult life.





The biggest problem in Tharparkar is water availability. These agro farms are bored for irrigation and various types of pumps and in case of lack of electricity, solar power is also installed and at the same time storage tanks are constructed for storing water. Due to which the people of the adjoining villages also have access to daily necessities and clean drinking water.

The existing wild berries in Tharparkar have also been grafted with good quality berries and now the branches of these trees look bent under the weight of good quality big tasty and nutritious berries. Under Dua Foundation, 200 foreign olive trees of Kahu (wild olive) have been grafted in Dhirkot District Bagh. This will improve the economic situation of the locals.

The land in most of the areas has been found to be fertile and no artificial fertilizer is required, while the ground water is not only useful for crop production but also caters to the fish farm adjacent to the farm and provides excellent fish farming. Is happening When planning farming on these farms, special attention is paid to the selection of local varieties of fodder, home-grown vegetables, grains and fruits. According to Aamir Khan, Chairman of the Foundation, after these successful experiments, we are planning to use new technology and seek expert guidance to achieve mass production.
Many farms were damaged after last year's locust attack, which has been replanted with the help of philanthropists and local workers. An action plan is being prepared with the help of the research department of Karachi University to prevent the next locust heart attack.
