Someone was saying that the woman of Islamabad marched on everyone. Some were saying that we should also be part of this march and raise our voice against the oppression of women. Some were saying no, these are un-Islamic acts of obscenity, they should be avoided.
A friend also asked me for an opinion. Tell me, shouldn't we talk about freedom for women's rights?
I said that it is easier to make a decision than to think carefully before making a decision. So we have to consider this and know that
(1) When and how did things start?
(2) What will be the consequences?
If we look at history, we will see that until the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, there were no such ideologies in the West, that is, even there, guidance for living was taken from religion. But due to many wrong decisions of the state and the church, people began to feel that they were not being treated well. Even the harshest punishments were meted out to scientists who came up with new scientific ideas, leading to the rapid spread of anti-religious ideas in the West. Even anti-religious enlightenment ideas began to spread. Moreover, a pastor like Martin Luther himself introduced a new sect of Protestant ideologies based on secularism as opposed to the traditional teachings of religion.
With this new wave of thought, religion became such a private matter in the West that an individual was free to practice religion in his own right, but was deprived of it in his home, society and state. That is, if the father himself considers it haraam to drink alcohol, it is his freedom not to drink, but he cannot forbid his son, nor can he try to close any bar in the society. Now when the son or daughter comes home drunk at night, it has become a private matter. The father has no authority to say anything.
This ideology is actually the basic ideology of freedom in the West, in which everyone can live as he pleases and decide what is wrong or sinful to do and what is right to do. It is as if every human being has attained the status of God. So now man will do as he pleases, not as God wills. This idea was accepted in all developed countries. That is why today in these countries there are legal centers for adultery and gambling, pubs and other such facilities, which is also against the teachings of the majority religion, such as Christianity. But neither the pastor's advice is taken there nor any pastor is given the right to campaign against all these evils.
without marriage. The woman has been given the right to legally write her name in place of the child's father so that there is no need to look for the father's name after belonging to many men. Thus marriage has been made a shameful and unmarried relationship a proud one.
This freedom is not only for women, it is for all, it is just a matter of being anti-religious. That is, the West avenged the mistakes and oppression of the state and the church in such a way that now, whether individual life or social or state laws, all have been made anti-religious. That is why in the past, President Obama, while addressing the UN General Assembly, openly said that if anyone in the United States set fire to the Holy Quran, it was his right to freedom. They do not need to have a lamp, but they should have the same freedom in their country. Similarly, when insults were drawn in France, the French president, instead of apologizing, backed the act, saying it was a matter of "freedom of speech."
In short, women have enjoyed similar freedoms in the West, and philosophers there have called for more. For example, Deleuze said that where is the freedom now, the difference between Muharram and non-Muharram still remains, that is, siblings do not have the freedom to marry each other. In some countries, women are campaigning for a legal right to prostitution, as men often do not pay after spending the night.
Thus, after the concept of independence of the said Western society, now the same right to freedom is being demanded in the streets in Pakistan as well. That is why in the recent Islamabad Women's March, the flag of the French country, where cartoons on blasphemy were made, was also hoisted.
In our country too, the women and men affected by the aforementioned freedom of the West are demanding such freedom.
Now, with this background, we can easily decide whether we should support or fully condemn the participants in this march.
