Corona and our carelessness || How Corona is spreading in the world || why it not under control

Instead of making fun of Corona, people should take SOPs seriously

We hear in the news every day that so many people have died from corona virus in Pakistan and so many people have been diagnosed with the virus. You may have noticed a steady increase in deaths and positive cases over the last few days. The situation is dire in neighboring India, where the death toll from the virus has risen to 3,000 on a daily basis and the number of positive cases has exceeded 300,000.

After all, what is the reason that Pakistan or India have reached the stage where the beds in the hospitals are full, there is a lack of oxygen and ventilators have become scarce? Certainly not in a day or a month.

South Asia as a whole is one of the developing countries in the region that lacks education, health, infrastructure and other facilities. Due to lack of education and awareness, people are less likely to follow the law, more likely to believe in conspiracy theories. That is why when the outbreak of this corona virus started, the majority of our Pakistani and Indian people at first flatly denied the existence of this virus. Some people went further and promoted the theory that people infected with the virus are killed in hospitals and that the World Health Organization and developed countries pay 500,000 per patient for it. Some people described the symptoms of the epidemic as a common disease.

Despite repeated announcements by governments that people should wear masks, wash their hands frequently and maintain social distance. But the majority of the people of these two countries ignored these instructions. There is also no doubt that in the early days of the epidemic, ie last year, the governments of the two countries imposed a lockdown and strictly enforced SOPs, which limited the scope of the epidemic. Over time, some economic constraints came to the fore and both countries lifted the lockdown. On both sides, announcements were made to the public regarding the implementation of SOPs, but the strict implementation of SOPs was stopped by the government. That is why the people returned to their routine activities and the SOPs were not implemented.

Social events and political activities have also returned to normal in both the countries. Due to the lack of travel restrictions, people from abroad also kept coming and due to the lack of screening or quarantine system, various types of viruses started coming here as "imports". And in doing so, it became a bomb that exploded in India and is about to explode in Pakistan.

Now the majority of the people in both countries are poor, so they turned to government hospitals. Government hospitals were not prepared for this whole situation and even if they were, to some extent. So the health system was badly affected and the system came to a standstill. And what we are seeing now in India and the dust in my mouth will probably happen in Pakistan in the days to come.

Therefore, the governments of both the countries are requested to take all possible steps for the welfare of the people, in which the option of complete lockdown should also be at the forefront. The economy can recover, money can be made again, but once it is known, it falls asleep. It cannot be returned.

While the public is asked to wear a mask, wash their hands frequently, avoid crowding and rushing, avoid going out unnecessarily and vaccinate people who are 60 years of age or older.

The epidemic can be controlled if we follow these few guidelines, otherwise the situation could spiral out of control.
